Oneplus versprach vor einigen Tagen, am heutigen 12.2.2015 weitere Informationen zum hauseigenen ROM OxygenOS zu ver\u00f6ffentlichen. Das damit die Vorstellung des Team hinter OxygenOS gemeint sein k\u00f6nnte, damit h\u00e4tten sicher die Wenigsten gerechnet.<\/p>\n

Man hat sich ein durchaus interessantes Team zusammengestellt, welches \u00fcber die ganze Welt verteilt gemeinsam am neuen ROM arbeiten wird.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, we\u2019re honored to introduce just a few members of our (extremely global) OxygenOS team:<\/p>\n

Head of Mobile Product:<\/p>\n

Helen (Canada): Helen worked as a software development engineer and program manager at Microsoft before moving on to various startups in the Seattle area. We are proud to have Helen leading and coordinating our OxygenOS team.<\/p>\n

Android Technical Lead:<\/p>\n

Aaron (USA): Creating his own custom Android ROM \u201ccookies&cream\u201d for the Nexus 7 at the age of 18, Aaron went on to help co-found Paranoid Android<\/a> in 2012, serving as a team leader and software architect. Aaron has also worked for Intel, assisting the delivery of their Android Lollipop OTA. We are ecstatic to have him and his wealth of experience leading our team of developers.<\/p>\n

UI\/UX Designer:<\/p>\n

Arz (India): At only 19 years of age, Arz has extensive experience in graphic design and possesses in-depth knowledge of Android theming, including UI frameworks. Creating some of the most popular themes on the Google Play store, Arz is the lead designer at Paranoid Android and the lead UI\/UX designer for OxygenOS.<\/p>\n

Android Development Team:<\/p>\n

Carlo (Italy): Former medical student turned Android hacker. With years of experience as a Android engineer, Carlo currently contributes to Paranoid Android as a maker of awesome things.<\/p>\n

Hieu (Canada): As a software architect at Paranoid Android, Hieu\u2019s specialties include OS optimizations and power management. All-around \u201chardware enabler,\u201d there is nothing Hieu can\u2019t fix.<\/p>\n

Jes\u00fas (Columbia): Creating several notable Android applications, Jes\u00fas is an independent developer and co-founder at Paranoid Android. He\u2019s primarily working on an OxygenOS headline feature (which will be revealed soon)!<\/p>\n

Karim (Lebanon): Karim is an entrepreneur and former software development intern at Google. He is the resident app developer on the OxygenOS team.<\/p>\n

Yamil (Spain): Yamil is the \u201cmaster of enterprise code,\u201d bringing a new perspective to the startup space. He is responsible for the OxygenOS recovery module.<\/p>\n

Of course, we have over 50 more engineers and testers working behind the scenes, and we couldn\u2019t be happier to welcome each and every one of them to the OnePlus family.<\/p>\n

Interessanter sind aber die Beweggr\u00fcnde zu einem eigenen ROM, abseits von dem, was ohnehin allgemein bekannt ist, die wohl beidseitige Einstellung, den Vertrag mit Cyanogen auslaufen zu lassen, verspricht sich Oneplus mehr direkten Einfluss der Community auf die Funktionen, die ins ROM einfliessen, sowie bessere Lokalisierung und schnellere Updates (gerade Letztere werden jeden Benutzer erfreuen).<\/p>\n

Das ROM soll sehr schlank und nah am Stock-Android entwickelt werden, was eine hohe Leistung und optimale Batterielaufzeiten erlauben soll. Sicher wird dies auch den Anpassungsaufwand bei Updates auf einem Minimum halten, damit man seinem eigenen Versprechen \u00fcberhaupt nachkommen kann.<\/p>\n

Zwar habe ich selbst das Oneplus One aufgrund des geringen Preises in Kombination mit Cyanogen Mod als ROM gekauft, muss aber sagen, dass ich gegen ein nahezu blankes Android absolut nichts einzuwenden habe, denn viele interessante Funktionen aus den gro\u00dfen ROMs fliessen ohnehin in die Stock-Android Version ein, so dass ich die schnellen Updates und Leistungsf\u00e4higkeit definitiv bevorzuge.<\/p>\n
